What if I didn't know my license was suspended?

Driving without knowledge of the suspension is a noncriminal moving violation under s.322.34(1). Because it falls under chapter 322, state costs add $63, not the $66 for chapter 316 violations:

  • Court cost, s.318.18(12)(a): $35
  • Additional court cost, s.318.18(12)(c): $2.50
  • Additional court cost, s.318.18(12)(d) (s.938.01): $3
  • Administrative fee, s.318.18(19): $12.50
  • Article V assessment, s.318.18(20): $10

Total state costs for a moving violation under ch. 320 or 322: $63 (s.318.18, verified Oct 25, 2026).
